Zero-K is a FREE, multiplatform, open-source RTS game. It aims to be dynamic, action-packed and hassle-free, full of clever strategies and constantly moving combat with games lasting an average 20-30 minutes.

Main features:

  • Epic Scale from tiny flea-bots to huge mechs and gigantic superweapons that wreak havoc - hundreds or thousands of units on the battlefield, all easily viewable with a fully pannable and zoomable camera.
  • Realistic Physics mean each shot is physically simulated realtime - you can actually evade bullets if you micro-manage your units! Hills and terrain affect line of sight and radar coverage, and explosions deform the terrain.
  • Planet Wars lets you take control of your own planet and fight for survival in an ongoing online campaign!
  • Natural Balance allows units to depend on their natural characteristics and the benefits of the simulated environment, not contrived special damages to determine their effectiveness.
  • Terraforming - change the terrain: walls, ditches, ramps and more, to provide yourself with an extra tactical advantage.
  • Unique Abilities make sure units are fun to use! From jump-jets, gravity turrets, mobile shields, burning napalm, air drops, unit morphs - we've got it all and more! You can even control your units directly in First Person Mode!
  • Streamlined Economy - the economic system is complex without being tedious, with a simple interface and controls. Resources are unlimited and output can be scaled up as the game progresses, allowing for increasingly intense battles. The system is also designed to minimize slippery slope and allow skilled players to make comebacks from losing positions.

I want the authority to edit this entry

I want the authority to edit this entry.

I knew this game a lot imo, I was playing this game for 5% of last year more than 300 hours.

If sixsixfive will be ok with that, I'll change it.

as long the article remains objective

Ok, ill try my best to keep it objective.

I will only add its unique features, which are a lot

If my English confuse you, please point out :D

Unfortunately, some bug prevents me from changing authorship, so we'll have to wait until pheonton fixes it.

mhm very wierd.... you should have the same permissions as i have.... i changed it btw.

Hey luojie-dune
Most of us have problems with English but pls try a little harder to use proper formed sentences ;), pls check your latest edits so i can publish the changes.

I found Im not able to edit that revision. Only a button "edit current".

> you should have the same permissions as i have....

The problem was not related to permissions. There was some bug with autocomplete - after entering the new name obscure error pops up (I've sent you PM with message text). Saving the page doesn't work then - clicking the button just brings you back to the Edit page with old authorship values remaining.

Pls try again, i've changed the permission.

How can it be compiled on Linux?

I don't know programming. But it looks the game don't need to be compiled, XML and lua define all rules running on springrts engine.

C# part is mainly server side and editing tools. And also the most popular SpringRTS lobby zero-k lobby, which was compatible with Mono but later dropped due to no Linux maintainers.

>How can it be compiled on Linux?

You don't need to build it because it's a Spring-Mod.

A better Zero-K trailer

Hi there. Made a new, better Zero-K video. Could this be used in this site instead?

Sure. I will. Just too lazy to review without modification to article. I hope someone else take over. Better luckywaldo7.

I can take over if you want. I'm not sure how to edit stuff though, do I need special rights?

Yes you need special rights and you got them.
